At Crescent Architects we are looking at innovative ways that our design expertise and experience of construction can be put to good use during this time of crisis. We are taking on new clients throughout the Coronavirus pandemic, as by spending more time in our homes we are finding our clients can really evaluate  how their current homes make them happy, and what would make them better. We are finding it increasingly clear that a simple and effective way to create a sense of calm, and a feeling of control, is to start with some positive thinking, and to then work through the things that need changing. For example, do you really need an extra room? What would happen if you could repurpose an existing space? Is home working something that you want to continue with in the future, and is the set up you have currently going to be sustainable in the future? Period cottage sun room extension and landscaping proposals for covered courtyard

A beautiful cottage located in a national park has recently been extended to incorporate a new sunroom, garden enclosure, modern garden room and stylish landscaping. Works started in December 2019 and are due for completion in March 2020.

Planning and Renovation This month we have faced major planning hurdles, from schemes that required ecology reports, to tree reports, heritage assessments, bat surveys and conservation restrictions. It has demonstrated to us how essential it is to work with the local authority where ever possible in the early stages of submission. It has allowed us to demonstrate to our clients how important it is to ensure that your agent really does liaise on your behalf, by updating and keeping our clients in the loop when it comes to the decision process. We have helped turn around a nightmare situation for one particular client, who was living on a building site and had to bring works to a halt when unfortunately their dream scheme, developed by another designer, was refused Planning Permission part way through works on site.
