Planning Applications, Building Regulations submissions and moving out of lockdown

Between March and August 2020, Crescent Architects Ltd continued to work on existing projects.  As a sole trader limited company working from home studio, we worked hard to operate remotely with our new and existing valued clients.

However, the impact of the pandemic certainly affected us all in many ways.
It brought us closer to those around us, gave an insight into people's homes and emotions and sadly brought some projects to a halt for a variety of reasons.
Thankfully, as we slowly get back to a form of normality, many of our schemes are moving forward.
We have been busy submitting planning applications for several local schemes including a single storey rear extension in Selby, a new build house in York, a rear extension and double storey extension in Riccall, and a large double storey extension in Thirsk.
The latest application is for a scheme in Monk Fryston and will involve a complete first floor renovation with new roof and several dormers.

We have also been involved on site with a scheme which started in December, and was nearing completion in March for a repeat client near Helmsley, which involved a large outdoor enclosure, a garden room and bespoke conservatory extension to a period home which we are hoping to visit in the coming weeks.

Last month, one of our schemes located in Hemingbrough, was able to commence on site.
The existing conservatory was removed and the foundations have now been constructed.
We expect this scheme to be nearing completion in September.

We submitted and obtained Building Regulations approval for a kitchen renovation and extension scheme in Bubwith, and for a scheme in Oswaldkirk which comprises a large boot room, utility room, walk in pantry and porch entrance and this month we will move forward with a period cottage situated in Cliffe.

We are now in the process of taking these schemes out to tender to find the right contractor and to start works later in the year.
Whilst these schemes are out to tender, we have programmed in two loft conversion schemes in York.
One is due to start on site in September, the other a little later in the year - both are bespoke loft extensions and will be Contract managed on site.

If you are thinking about undertaking an extension or home alteration, then please get in touch. We run projects from start to finish bringing a wealth of experience and expertise, ideas and innovation. We can advise on many aspects of your scheme from feasibility to planning, kitchen design, lighting arrangements, costs and construction methods, choice of finish and contractor.

We will continue to deliver our professional service to the best of our abilities, despite the challenges of the current pandemic, and are looking forward to hearing from you to discuss your project.
